Shopping Cart & eCommerce Website - from only $1995

What is an eCommerce or Shopping Cart Website?

An eCommerce web site (also known as a Shopping Cart or an Online Store) is a website that enables a customer to find a product, order a product, pay for a product and identify where the goods are to be sent - automatically. The shopping cart and ecommerce software will then send the customer an email receipt and will notify you, as the store owner, that you have a new sale and the details of that sale.

The ecommerce or shopping cart software "backend" manages all of the important tasks like:

  • displaying products in suitable categories (so customers can find them easily)
  • displaying key information about products (like price, description, pictures, variables (eg size or colour), manufacturer etc),
  • putting items on "special"
  • enabling a customer to purchase multiple products at once (by placing products in their "shopping cart"),
  • calculating the final price including taxes and shipping costs,
  • facilitating payment (usually through PayPal and credit cards)
  • getting shipping details
  • tracking the order
  • reviewing products
  • managing inventory (ie how many of each product are left in stock)
  • managing newsletters and other email to customers
  • providing reports on sales and stock.

The ecommerce sites we build usually use ZenCart - a fully featured open source shopping cart. We love ZenCart because of its relatively simple admin system and its big range of features. However, if you would rather use an alternative ecommerce product to power your site (such as OSCommerce or CubeCart), we can do that too!

What Does WebCare Do?

We will custom design the look of your ecommerce store. For examples of how these sites can look, have a look at our eCommerce portfolio - nearly all of these sites use Zen Cart. If you can find other sites that you like the look of, we can incorporate the essential design elements that you like into your website.

We will also integrate PayPal Payment Facilities so that you have a fully functioning online payment system, and your ecommerce website will be ready to add and sell your products from Day 1 (without incurring expensive merchant fees and payment gateway fees). If you want to add fully integrated merchant facilities from the beginning or at a later stage, we can do this for you from around $200 (inc GST). Please contact us for a firm quote (prices vary depending on merchant and payment gateway).

For those of you in Australia, we will add our GST package to your site (if you need to charge GST).  This ensures that you are GST compliant, including automatic calculation of the GST and generating a lawful Tax Invoice for your customers.

We will configure your shopping cart with a standard range of shipping modules (flat rate, by price, by weight). For a discussion of shipping options, check our
Shipping Modules page on the WebCare blog. For other shipping requirements, please discuss your needs with us.

We will also set up and configure the admin section to your new business (business name, address, location, zone, key contact, email address etc). Our Ecommerce Web Design Adelaide, Zen Cart Web Development Australia, Shopping Cart Software Melbourne, Custom Ecommerce Web Design Perth services in Australia.

To assist you with adding products to your site, we will also set up three sample  categories and two test products (so you can see how this will look and work). You can then add your own categories and products (or ask us for a quote to do this for you).

We will also add three standard text pages to your site (eg Shipping, Refunds & Returns and About Us).  You can then add any more text pages that you want on your site and edit them easily in your admin system.

Finally, we will install your new ecommerce shopping cart website in your hosting account (provided it is compatible). When we finish our work, your website will be fully operational and ready for products to be added.

The all inclusive cost for our full-featured, "ready-to-go" ecommerce web site is  $1995 (inc GST). There are no additional costs and no ongoing monthly "license" fees.

We can also add custom features to your site - just let us know what you want, and we will get you a fixed price quote.

As a special service to our clients, WebCare now offers a series of video tutorials to show you how to use your new shopping cart - step by step. Now - as part of our service - we do a lot of these things for you (eg adding payment modules, configuring your store, and configuring shipping), but you might want to change these things at some later stage. Instead of having to come back to us (and we're happy for you to do that), you will be able to watch the video (all you need is your computer and browser), then do it yourself!

This sounds good, what is the next step?
