What Process Do You Use to Build a Zen Cart Site?

We custom design all our Zen Cart websites. We do not use templates! We work with you to create a design that reflects your business message and to appeal to your target market. Once the design is completed, we then skin the latest stable version of Zen Cart with your design. We then configure ZenCart with your settings - shipping, GST, payments, and Australian default settings. We add your content pages (eg About Us, Terms & Conditions) and a few test products and categories so you can see how it works (if you would like us to add all your products, we can do that too). We then run through our exclusive 100 Point Quality Assurance Checklist - to make sure all is working as it should. At that point, we send the site to you to check. This process usually takes around 2-3 weeks after the design is finalised.

This is something that you can easily do from the admin system, or we can do it for you. There are no hidden extras. If you want to add some additional functionality to your zen cart system (eg a cross-sell module or flash photo gallery), we will give you a quote. Just ask!

 

Does a Zen Cart Site Need Much Maintenance?

All websites benefit from maintenance! There are various things to be done:

  • update and add new content (which you can do via the admin system)
  • add new products and change prices (you can do from admin)
  • do search engine optimisation to improve your site's rankings in the search engines
  • back up your site (you can do this from within your hosting account)
  • apply security patches and updates
  • clean the log files (you can do this from within admin - just click the button)
